What is CTE?
Career and Technical Education (CTE) helps prepare students who want to embark on a career trajectory while still in high school. Students can explore from over 18 pathways, each with three to four sequenced courses. Students can enter a pathway or explore at any point in their 6th-12th grade journey, with very few prerequisites. Students who choose to take multiple courses within a pathway may have the opportunity to earn industry certifications and college credit while still in high school. All pathways offer the opportunity to connect with future employers through work-based learning experiences like career tours, job shadowing, and internships.
Engage in a CTE pathway and you’ll be ready – ready for a career, ready for a job, ready for college, and ready for the future!

Yes! Once the cast and crew is solidified for each show, we'll post a "parent / guardian info letter" on the "Season" tab
Is there a text messaging system I can join for any extra information throughout the year?
We use Remind 101 to keep our casts and crews informed and you're welcome to join us by texting "@fchsperf" to 81010
What is Theater Practicum or Work-Based Learning?
Theater Practicum or Work-Based Learning is a 5th period course which credits students for their participation in our Tower Theater season. All students who are a part of the cast or crew of any of our plays or musicals will be automatically enrolled in the class. This course may be taken all four years at FCHS and counts as the culminating level 4 course for the CTE Technical Theater Pathway. Theater Practicum meets according to the production schedule of the current show.
Is there a cost or fee associated with Theater Practicum or any of the plays and musicals during the year?
No. We strongly believe that this extracurricular activity should be FREE and openly available to ALL students <3
Can my student participate in Theater Practicum while also doing sports or other extracurricular activities?
Yes! We are flexible in our scheduling so students may enjoy a broad spectrum of activities and we'll happily work with coaches to help make this happen
Does my student need to participate in Theater Practicum all year?
No. Theater Practicum can be taken any quarter, with credit based on how many shows the student completes
Do you need parent volunteers?
If you are interested in volunteering, complete this form, and when we are in need of volunteers, we'll be in touch.
Can I donate material or funds to the program?
Yes! If you are interested in donating materials (wood, hardware, old clothing, craft supplies, etc.) or in making a monetary donation of any amount, please email Jason Tyler
