Colorado State Thespian Conference, Dec. 12, 13, &14, 2024
Over 4,000 of Colorado’s most dedicated high school theater students attend this conference, training with the country’s leading professionals in acting, directing, playwriting, and technical theater. The conference also affords students the opportunity to attend productions by high schools, professional theaters, and university theater programs.
Students will meet at a downtown Denver hotel (hotel TBD) by 1:30 PM on Thursday, Dec. 7. Once all students have arrived, we will attend workshops at the Colorado Convention Center from 2:30-5:15, we’ll take a dinner break together, then we’ll attend the night’s opening ceremony and performance, which begins at 7:30 pm. Friday, students will spend the day (9:00AM – 11PM) attending workshops, with lunch and dinner breaks together as a group, and one more mainstage show that night at 8:30 pm. On Saturday, we will attend last workshop sessions (8:30AM – 11:15AM) and the trip will conclude at 12:00 PM in Denver at the downtown Denver hotel. For the complete, detailed workshop schedule, please visit www.cothescon.net.
As a workshop heavy, two-night field trip, we limit attendance to a small group of our most dedicated students and approach the conference as an intensive learning and bonding experience. The conference cost per student is $250 (covers conference registration & hotel) plus the cost of food (approximately 5-6 meals). Students will also need to provide their own transportation to and from the conference, via personal car, parent drop-off, or carpooling. Parking (if applicable) costs approx. $25-35 per day.
CONGRATS! to the following students who have been selected to attend ThesCon:
A field trip packet with detailed information and parental signature requirements will be given to attendees in the coming weeks. In the meantime, payment of $250 (cash or check payable to FCHS, paid through Mr. Tyler) is due by Oct. 11
