Colorado State Thespian Conference, Dec. 12-14, 2019
Over 3,500 of Colorado’s most dedicated high school theater students in grades 9 to 12 attend this conference at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, and over 70 colleges, conservatories, and universities offer more than a million dollars’ worth of college scholarships to students in attendance. Besides the university auditioning experience, students who attend train with the country’s leading professionals in acting, directing, play writing, and technical theater. The conference also affords students the opportunity to attend productions by high schools, professional theaters, and university theater programs.
As a workshop heavy, two-night field trip, we limit attendance to a small number of our most dedicated students and approach the conference as both an intensive learning and bonding experience. Though we participate in workshops based on individual interests, we attend shows, meals, and all other activities together, as a group, and spend downtime discussing how we can use our newly gained knowledge and insight to better our program and invigorate our peers. Attendee selections are based on maturity, experience, passion, and artistic drive as well as Thespian and Trouper status, and seniority.
The following students have been selected to attend this year's Thespian Conference:
Max Allan McKaiden Ayraud Emma Christensen Shannon Dunn Aidan Ellison Ellie Foerster Avital Forsyth Ted Greene Anna Hunter Britney Juarez Monica Kosmos Keegan Kulesa Neena Malcom Truman McCaw Ella Paschke Sydney Purnell Sage Spry Ellie Swain Corrinne Tallman Ben Tollison Sam Tollison Emily Walker Emerson Weiler
